Weimer & Weeding PLLC is a commercial insurance law firm.  Its principals Britton Weimer and William Weeding bring a total of over 55 years of experience, innovation and success in commercial insurance coverage and defense litigation.

The firm continues Britton Weimer’s and William Weeding’s long-standing law practices, providing legal representation to commercial insurance companies and their insureds, with a focus on the complex and specialized lines of employment practices liability insurance, directors and officers insurance, errors and omissions insurance, liquor liability insurance, and commercial general liability insurance. While the firm primarily serves business insurers and their insureds, our representation also includes corporate and non-profit clients needing assistance with litigation and risk management.  Weimer & Weeding, PLLC (“WW”) is a niche litigation firm that primarily assists clients in the areas of:

Britton Weimer is a founding partner at Weimer & Weeding. Mr. Weimer is a seasoned commercial attorney, with more than 30 years of litigation experience. His practice encompasses a wide range of insurance coverage, insurance defense, and commercial litigation, including EPL, CGL, D&O, commercial property, workers compensation, insurance and real estate E&O, accounting and medical malpractice, construction defects, asbestos, electric utilities, liquor liability, media, lender liability and products liability.

He also defends and advises employers on COVID-related claims such as wage and hour and disability discrimination.

Mr. Weimer is a successful, innovative and respected civil litigation attorney, trial and appellate. He has an “AV” peer-review rating with Martindale Hubbell. He has a national practice, and is admitted in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He has briefed and argued over 50 cases before the Minnesota Court of Appeals, the Minnesota Supreme Court, and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and has served as an expert witness in coverage cases.

Mr. Weimer is a nationally-recognized authority in insurance law. He has written and co-authored several authoritative books and treatises, including:

He has written two national risk management books for businesses and religious organizations: Stay Out Of Court and Stay In Business (2nd ed., Common Law, 1996) and Stay Out Of Court and Stay in Ministry (CSS, 1998).
